From the edge of the Caspian
I spent a couple of days in Aktau and had a chance to dangle my fingers into the cool waters of the Caspian. The water was cold and salty and the view was unobstructed. It seems that beyond oil and gas industries, this city on the sea has been overlooked as a destination. With a bit more infrastructure, I could imagine a popular local resort destination... even Kazakhstan has a sea (then, how can it really claim to be a land-locked country?).
